About Me

I'm originally from Stockton-on-Tees in the North-East of England. After spending four years at Homerton College, Cambridge, I studied for my PhD in astrophysics at Durham University. I worked on simulations of the large-scale structure of the universe with my thesis entitled "Gravity to Galaxies — N-body Simulations for the DESI Survey"

I started analysing baseball statistics as a hobby after getting interested in the sport in 2019. I was fortunate to be able to turn this into a career thanks to the connections that I made when posting my work online.

I have a strong background in baseball analytics and data science more generally. During my PhD, I performed data science placements at Angstrom Sports, the Department for Education, and Northumbrian Water.

My CV / Resume is linked here.

Outside work, I'm a keen badminton player, enjoy quizzing and cryptic crosswords, and sometimes apply my data science skills to more local projects, such as producing more accurate arrival time estimates at my local bus stop to help my partner with her commute.
